Schools of Choice is a program that permits students who do not reside within the Warren Consolidated School District boundaries to apply for a limited number of openings in our district.
The program is open to any student living within Macomb County, on a space-available basis. Once a student is accepted under this program, he or she may remain in W.C.S. until graduation, under the same terms.
The application form includes a space to indicate your first and second choices for schools. No guarantees are made that any specific school will have space available. However, every effort will be made to accommodate parent preferences on a space-available basis. School of choice students who complete 5th grade or 8th grade will be promoted to a middle school or high school whose enrollment can accommodate them. You must be accepted into a school before you can enroll for a specific program such as extended-day kindergarten.
Application forms and information are available for download or from any Warren Consolidated School, as well as the Student Services Department, at 586-698-4478.
Parents are responsible for transportation.
Siblings of a student whose application has been accepted will be given preference if a random draw is necessary.
Yes, with the exception of students who have been suspended or expelled within the last two years.
