School Resource Officers, or SROs, are members of the law enforcement community who teach, counsel, and protect the school community. When SROs are integrated into a school system, the benefits go beyond reducing violence in schools. The officers build relationships with students while serving as a resource to students, teachers, and administrators to help solve problems. In Warren Consolidated Schools, SROs are assigned to Warren Mott High School, Cousino High School, and Sterling Heights High School on a full time and permanent basis. While School Resource Officers are assigned to an individual school, they also visit our middle and elementary schools frequently. Other officers from Sterling Heights, Warren, and Troy Police Departments also frequently visit our schools, are in constant radio communication with their department, and respond to 911 calls related to our schools as necessary.
