This course will provide students with the manual and computerized accounting skills used in a small business, organized as a proprietorship or a corporation. Students will complete realistic accounting simulations and perform duties that assist the accountant in recording, sorting, and filing financial data. Manual and computerized competency will be exhibited in journalizing and posting transactions; reconciling a bank statement; completing a worksheet; creating a trial balance, balance sheet, and income statement; adjusting and closing entries; and implementing petty cash and payroll procedures.
Students will expand their knowledge of manual and computerized accounting procedures. Decision‐making skills in budgeting, departmental accounting systems, payroll procedures, and simulated accounting experiences will be emphasized. In this course, students will use an online learning system for lecture notes, exercises, tutorials, online discussions, and assessments with online help and email available. Students completing Accounting 1 and 2 may qualify for college articulation credits.
This virtual, hands-on, student-led program will give you experience in a simulated business environment while using the Virtual Enterprises International (VEI) curriculum. A multifaceted business operation will take place each day within this business classroom. Students will take part in all of the steps included in a small business startup. accounting, administration, purchasing, sales and marketing, human resources, graphics, and design are departments working daily to establish a successful “Virtual Business”, including financial and operational management, and ethical responsibilities of business operations. This program will take you on an “out of the box” learning adventure through field trips, leadership competitions, and trade show events.

Explores the broad topic of cybersecurity in a way that matters to you. Learn how to protect your data and privacy online and on social media, and why more and more IT jobs require cybersecurity awareness and understanding.
The cyber security field is the fastest growing field in the IT industry and is one of the most needed professions in the United States. Students gain competitive skills required to administer, analyze, and secure applications, networks, and devices. Students will understand concepts that include threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities; explore technology and tools; examine architecture and design; analyze identity and access management; demonstrate risk management; and examine cryptography and public key management.
Global Financial Citizenship is designed to teach real-world applications and increase financial literacy. The topics will focus on employability in a global economy, career development, budgeting, money management, and credit management. Students will develop skills in pursuing career choices and prepare to be knowledgeable consumers. Other topics include college planning, saving, and investing, as well as consumer rights and responsibilities. Students will participate in a Capstone project centered around the successful management of a virtual business while learning how to be a global financial citizen.
This robust program focuses on the desirable expertise required to pursue a career in Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design. Students will attain knowledge in the Digital Media field, as well as gain employability and technical skills to better prepare them for college and our global economy. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications; as well as attain knowledge in various web/program applications such as HTML and CSS.
Students in the second year of the program will have an opportunity to develop and run the school’s website, attain employment through our work‐based learning program, participate in leadership organizations, and earn Articulated College Credit. After successful completion of the program, students may also become an Adobe Certified Associate Web Design Specialist in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash CC, as well as an Adobe Certified Associate Visual Design Specialist in Illustrator, and InDesign CC.
