Scot Acre

Scot Acre attended Wayne State University where he received his teaching certification. He has a major in mathematics and a minor in group science. He began his teaching career at the International Academy of Bloomfield Hills. Before coming to the MMSTC, Scot taught at Cousino for four years. He is currently working for his master's degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.

Before starting his teaching career, Mr. Acre was entirely dedicated to playing, teaching and coaching tennis. Now, as a teacher, he is still a part of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) as a certified tennis professional. He has done everything from running a country club program to coaching nationally ranked juniors.

In addition, he serves as President of the Detroit Area Council of Teacher of Mathematics. His mission is to connect with the AMAZING Metro Detroit Mathematics Community and offer services that lead to excellent teaching for all students!

Mr. Acre's teaching style is unique and he connects with his students very well. He involves everyone in classroom discussions and makes sure everyone understands the topics. He encourages questions and is more than happy to help his students grasp the concepts of his lessons. He makes them think, which benefits every student in the room and can only further prepare them for the bright future ahead.
